Northeast Asia, once the battleground of the US– China– Japan- Russia quadrilateral, remains a region where the four major powers are engaged in a fierce struggle for hegemony and national interests. Northeast Asia is a powder keg that could explode at any moment.
The crisis in Northeast Asia must be reversed. Without it, the outbreak of a second Korean War is inevitable. Overcoming the crisis and the seizing opportunity for reversal go hand in hand. We must reverse the crisis of the Korean Peninsula by transforming Northeast Asia into a region of reconciliation and cooperation.
To realize the Northeast Asia Cooperative Organization, the economic cooperation based on energy and resource colalboration could be considered, just as Europe created the European Union based on the Coal and Steel Community. The Northeast Asia Cooperation and Coexistence Project should be developed based on this. To create a future, small, competitive and livable city in China for its urbanization, it is worth considering a cooperative coexistence model. This model could involve collaboration, with Korea handling plan and development, the United States and Japan providing technology and capital, and Russia supplying resources, with development profits shared among these nations.
If Korea can lead the Northeast Asia Cooperation and Coexistence Project, it will further strengthen Korea's position in Northeast Asia. Such a change would contribute to Korea leading the future society, including the achievement of peaceful reunification.
