The Korean Peninsula contributing to overcoming unsustainability through global control and technological advancements.
Overcoming Unsustainability
The unsustainability that has accompanied the prosperous growth brought about by industrialization
The lack of enforcement in the World organizations and international agreements, with a world order still dominated by the principle of power.
The need for international community to establish viable solutions thorugh laws and institutions, just as countries establishes order through laws and institutions.
Overcoming unsustainability, a global problem, by seeking solutions based on scientific and technological advancements
Industrialization has enabled the public majority to enjoy the same freedom, non-discrimination, and abundance oncereserved for the royal and aristocrat minority. However, it has also threatened the planet’s sustainability for these very reasons. Innovations based on technology and ideology have enriched lives, but have also led to a population explosion, ecosystem destruction, climate crisis, polarization, uncontrolled technological advancement, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and nuclear and terrorist threats, all threatening human survival.
Unsustainability is a global problem that cannot be solved by the efforts of a single country alone. In response, the United Nations proposed an international climate change agreement to limit greenhouse gas emissions and proposed specific implementation measures through the Kyoto Protocol. However, due to a lack of enforcement, major countries including the United States and China did not participate, leading to its failure.
Just as a country establishes social order through laws and institutions, similar measures must be implemented in the international community. In other words, laws and institutions that all countries must participate in and implement should be established through an international organization with effective control.
In addition, the search for technological solutions through advancement in science and technology must continue. Technological advancement is a key to breakthroughs in solving this problem. A sustainable planet for future generations is possible when solutions are planned and implemented.
